Published by Mrs Horgan of the post office and shop, the first postcard featured a black and white taken by Ron Taylor AM - a future part-time resident with his wife Valerie. Holding the card is local professional licensed fisherman, diver-expert surfer, the late Brian Davies.

More an open pen than a trap as fish were free to leave - except they preferred to swim into the flowing current and the pen opening faced the opposite direction.

Too successful - when the idea and design leaked out, too many traps for too few fish decimated the entire population of Yellowtail kingfish. Meanwhile sushi chefs began using the fish for sashimi (raw fish) dishes.

Lobster trap bait. Mullet are drying after being heavily salted. Originally these racks were on the road at Boat Beach.  The aroma obviously required a change of location after visitor numbers to the village began increasing the the late 1970s
